This website used fake news in the title to attract a larger number of readers to the news that had already been published on another, legitimate medium. Precisely because of the fake title, the article has 27,000 views.
On October 3, 2018, a website called Vesti sada published an article with the title saying that the German government has adopted a new law on immigration:
PACK YOUR BAGS: The federal government of GERMANY has adopted the law on immigration, and here is when it starts.
German coalition partners CDU, CSU, and SPD want to ensure that skilled workers outside the European Union come to Germany with the help of the new law on the immigration of skilled workers. The federal government has agreed on key points of the law.
According to the German media, the federal government hopes that the new law will help overcome limited economic growth and ensure the prosperity and competitiveness of its economy.
However, the sentence that follows this paragraph contradicts the title of the article:
The law should be passed before Christmas.
In fact, it is a matter of taking an article from the website Klix, where it was published on the same day under the title “German immigration law more likely to happen, warns of even more mass emigration from BiH”.
Vesti sada duly transmitted the entire text, in which several statements and comments on the new law are made. However, the text does not mention “when” the application of the law begins, as announced in the headline. Therefore, this website published fake news in the title to attract a larger number of readers to the news that had already been published on another, legitimate medium. Precisely because of the fake title, the article has 27,000 views, and for the same reason (fake news in the title), we rate this article as fake news and clickbait. All the other websites that shared the article with this title are also rated as fake news and clickbait.
