A humanoid piglet is the second sculpture by Laira Maganuco to be declared a real, living creature by the Internet.

At the beginning of August, a short article about the birth of a mutant – a human-like pig – appeared in the local speaking area. Photos and a short video accompanied the article.

A PIG BIRTHED A HUMAN BABY

Photos and a video of a human-shaped piglet have appeared on the Internet.

Detailed information on the source of the photos and video are still unknown, but check out the images and video below:

Online search of these images reveals that it is a silicone doll made by Italian artist Laira Maganuco, which sold for 500 euros on the “Etsy” website.

“Humanoid pig” is not the only creation made by Maganuco, which was presented as a living being on social networks and obscure websites. She wrote about it on her official website:

The werewolf baby that has traveled the world. The photos were posted on social media and the public wondered if this confusing creature, a hybrid of human and some animal, really exists. The police had to refute the story and explain that I made it.

The fake news originally appeared in the English-speaking world, and was written about by “Hoax Slayer” (about the claims that the “pig-like baby” was born in Kenya), as well as “Hoax Fact” (about the story that it happened in India). In our country, the “news” spread via Dejana Saznaj Red Magazin Facebook page and – ironically – via a page called “Knowledge is power”.

Whatever language it is published in, one thing is for sure – it is fake news.

Following the publication of this analysis, we received a new report from a reader, and the analysis follows below.

After the original article in our language stated that the photos appeared on the Internet and that there was no more detailed information, “Politika Express” website somehow stumbled upon them. On August 11, this website published an article with the title:

MIRACLE IN TUZLA: A pig gave birth to a HUMANOID BABY! (VIDEO)

The article still only has one sentence, which, ironically, says again that there is no more detailed information.

The website “Novine Balkan” also published the article with the same title.

Almost half a year after we published this analysis, we received new reports from our readers. Since the publication of our analysis on January 24, 2019, nine websites have republished the news about the “miracle in Tuzla”. All nine portals received the rating of spreading fake news for publishing incorrect information.
